  • Distribution boards and sub-switchboards
  • Earthing system
  • Isolating switches
  • Luminaries complete with lamps, control gear and associated wiring
  • Emergency and Exit lighting system

  • Voice and data block facility cabling
  • Telephone backbone cabling and field wiring
  • Nurse call system
  • Audio-Visual cabling
  • MATV system
  • Security System
  • CCTV System

Project Challenges

  • Access of plant and equipment on site
  • Coordinating specialist contractors on site
  • Medical ‘Body Protect’ area requirements
  • Concealed ceiling, ceiling height and access to location of services in space
  • Installation of sub switchboards in to existing sub mains cables
  • Connection of data, phone, security and nurse call systems in to existing systems ensuring compatibility
  • Meeting rooms’ power and lighting requirements to satisfy patients needs
  • Lighting specification changed significantly during project period in order to standardise lighting throughout the facility
  • Wall lighting installation difficult as timbers needed to be added to rear of plaster to ensure proper fixing

Despite the specification constantly evolving (which created challenges particularly when rough-in had been completed) the project was completed on time.

ATS was a finalist for a NECA Award of Excellence in 2008 for this project.
